Dance is the rhythmic movement of the body, usually to music, in a designated area, for the aim of expressing an idea or emotion, letting off steam, or just enjoying the movement itself. Join our dance class to pick up a skill.

Bharatanatayam

Bharatanatyam, also previously called Sadira Attam, is a major form of Indian classical dance that is indigenous to Tamil Nadu. Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest classical dance traditions in India. It was nurtured in the temples and courts of southern India since ancient times.

What you will learn


 Grade 1 – thattadavu, naattadavu, paraval adavu, kudhithu mettadavu

 Grade 2 – sarukkal, korvai, kuthadavu, thatti mettadavu

 Grade 3 – mandi, paychal, nadai, theermanam (going on currently)

From grade 4, items like Pushpanjali, alarippu, kauthvam, jathiswaram, shabdham, varnam, padham, thillana are included as part of the curriculum along with the corresponding theory, notations and thalam

There are 8 grades in total.

Exams

There will be periodical internal as well as external assessments. The external assessments will earn you a certificate in each of the 8 level.

Kathak

Kathak is one of the eight major forms of Indian classical dance. The origin of Kathak is traditionally attributed to the traveling bards of ancient northern India known as Kathakars or storytellers. The term Kathak is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word Katha which means “story”, and Kathakar which means “the one who tells a story”, or “to do with stories”.

What you will learn

It comprises of basic leg movements and hand movements and compositions like tukda, thihaai, salami, aamad, that, kavitt, natwari, pramelu, etc along with the theory and the corresponding taal. There are 8 grades in total.


Exams

There will be periodical internal as well as external assessments. The external assessments will earn you a certificate in each of the 8 levels.

Bollywood

Bollywood dance is a complex, but fun and enjoyable activity that can double as a heart-pumping workout – one as exciting as the beats you’re swaying to.

Some of the added bonuses of learning dance are as follows:

With time you will tend to observe that there is a drastic difference in the child’s posture, confidence, expressions and more rhythmically attuned.


Bollywood music is characteristically catchy, energetic and upbeat as well as being designed to dance to, making it a great soundtrack to the class. Each song tells a story so you can channel your inner Bollywood film star as you move.
